Thomas Dorsey was natural within Shenandoah, Pennsylvania and is the younger brother of Jimmy Dorsey.

He worked by owning several elastic in the New York City area starting in the 1920s, including the elastic of Rudy Vallee, Vincent Lopez, and Paul Whiteman. By having brother Jemmy, he led a Dorsey Brothers Orchestra until it split (by using occasionally tartness) around 1935. A brothers too appeared when sessiin musicians on numerous jazz recordings.

Tommy Dorsey formed his have band, which was super successful. A band featured trumpeters Bunny Berigan and Charlie Shavers, arranger Sy Oliver, and singers Jo Stafford, Dick Haymes and Frank Sinatra. Sinatra achieved his number one dandy profits as a singer in the Dorsey b& and claimed he learned breath control from either watching Dorsey play trombone. Dorsey said his trombone style was heavy influenced by that of Jack Teagarden.

Tommy married Jane Dorsey (1924?-August 2 dozen, 2003) inside 1947 & she remained his married woman until his demise. She experienced been the dancer at the world-an expert Copacabana.
